Our History

Circle of Strength Family was founded in 2020 and relaunched in 2025 with a simple but powerful belief: when individuals and families are supported, entire communities become stronger.

Recognizing the need for greater access to resources, advocacy, and community-based support, Circle of Strength Family was established to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families across New Jersey. The organization was created to address gaps that extend beyond direct services—ensuring families have access to the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Circle of Strength Family operates as a separate and independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and works in collaboration with Circle of Strength, a direct support service agency. While Circle of Strength provides day-to-day services, Circle of Strength Family focuses on strengthening and expanding the broader system of support through community partnerships, education, and strategic initiatives.  Circle of Strength Family does not provide direct services. All programs and initiatives are designed to expand access to resources, support systems, and opportunities. 

Through ongoing growth, the organization has expanded its impact through initiatives that promote accessibility, empower caregivers, and increase access to essential resources. Signature efforts such as the Annual Unity Ball help raise critical funding and awareness while celebrating the strength, resilience, and dedication of the families and communities served.

At its core, Circle of Strength Family is committed to building more inclusive, connected communities—where individuals with IDD and their families are supported not just in moments of need, but every day.
